HKUST-SKOLKOVO EMBA for Eurasia – First Module in HKUST (Jan 2019)
The first cohort of HKUST-SKOLKOVO
EMBA for Eurasia came to Hong Kong the first time for their 3rd
module of the program this month! This 10-day module provided the class an
opportunity to experience on-campus student life in the programs second home
campus, besides Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.
Attending lectures from our renowned
faculty, Prof Tai Yuen Chen, Prof Larry Franklin, and Prof Caroline Wang,
students developed and strengthened their skills and knowledge needed to
succeed in Eurasia. The evening seminars by Prof Jack Lau and Prof Egor Pereverzev
also equipped them with better understanding of digitalisation and business
negotiation in China.
Apart from classroom learnings,
students were given an opportunity to visit three leading innovative technological
companies in China: Tencent Holdings Limited, Da-jiang Innovations, and Huawei
Technologies Co., Ltd, and meet the senior executives for first-hand sharing
and exchange. They left Shenzhen with new inspirations!
Study is important, so do fun and
cultural experience. Prof Steven J DeKrey, Associate Dean of HKUST Business
School and Chairman of International Academic Council of Moscow School of Management
SKOLKOVO, hosted a cocktail reception at his on-campus residence to welcome the
class. Students had also spent a great night at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Happy
Valley Racecourse enjoying the unique equestrian performance sport like the
locals. Given a rare opportunity to see the Unicorn Hakkan Dance demonstrated by
the Joint
Association of Traditional Hakka Unicorn in Sai Kung and Hang Hau Hong Kong,
students went home with wonderful memories to share with their families and
friends!
