Increasing interest in business majors among GRE¢ç General Test Takers_6

This year¡¯s findings indicate that in 2017–18, GRE test takers with an intended graduate major field 
in business represent 7% of the GRE testing population — a 19% increase in the past five years. 

The number of test takers indicating an MBA as their intended degree objective increased 5% from 2016–17 to 2017–18. 
The number of Chinese test takers intending to major in business continues 
to increase year over year. Snapshot findings for GRE test takers in Mainland China include: 

• A total of 11% of test takers indicated an intended graduate major field in business. 
• There was a 25% increase in the number of test takers who indicated an intended graduate major field in business from 2016–17 to 2017–18. 
• There was a 76% increase in the number of test takers who indicated an intended graduate major field in business over the past 5 years. 


Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan also experienced year-over-year growth in the number of GRE test takers by Country of Citizenship.
