Sasin partners with
Tsinghua SEM
Sasin School of Management recently partnered with Tsinghua
University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM), the top-ranked
university in China (2019 QS World University ranking), to create a new Global
Action Learning Lab, the Sasin School of
Management-Tsinghua SEM Thailand-China Lab.
With this partnership, MBA students from Sasin and Tsinghua SEM
will collaborate on real-world business projects. Sasin-Tsinghua teams will
consult on business challenges for partner companies. Both sets of students
will have opportunities to hone their skills and thinking in real business
situations, said Dr. Chaipong Pongpanich, Deputy Director of Sasin.
Sasins Director, Professor Ian Fenwick, sees additional transnational benefits from this
collaboration: This new Action Learning Lab will strengthen Thailand-China
strategic cooperation on Chinas Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Thailands
myriad business connections with China. And working together on real business
problems, for real enterprises, will have an incalculable impact on students
perspectives and their ability to excel across cultures.
Sasin School of Management
has been a pioneer in establishing partnerships with top schools around the
world since its inception in 1982 and has recently partnered with a number of
schools to create Global Action Learning Labs. In 2017, the MIT- Sasin Action Learning Lab was launched with
MIT Sloan School of Management (USA). MBA students from Sasin and MIT Sloan
School of Management collaborate on action learning projects to tackle real-world
business challenges for partner companies in Thailand. The Sasin-Fudan Thailand-China Lab was created in 2018
as a joint program of the Sasin School of Management and Fudan University
School of Management in Shanghai, China. It engages teams of MBA students from
these two business schools to work collaboratively on management challenges
facing host companies that have an interest in expanding into the Chinese
market.
