THE ROLE OF BUSINESS ANALYTICS IN SUPPORTING INDUSTRIES 4.0
Universitas Prasetiya Mulya Launching its Master of Management Program

in Applied Business Analytics

The role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) is growing rapidly in

today's business world. The changes they cause are affecting the ways companies use and translate data,
comprehend markets, augment customer experience, manage human capital, and automate
operations. Consequently, AI and IoT bring out dynamics that encourage companies to have sharp
insights from available data. Therefore, business professionals need to possess extra capabilities
beyond those needed for managing conventional businesses.

Among the skills that professionals need to have are the ability to manage big data and the acumen
to translate them into meaningful information that helps to strengthen business processes and
achieve competitive advantages. Analytical knowledge and skills become imperative in encouraging
continuous improvement of company performance and in generating new ideas that can be realized
into concrete actions.

As an educational institution that continuously balances the role of the academic world and the
demands of industries, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya presents its Master of Management Program in
Applied Business Analytics (MMABA) in October 2020.

MMABA is an MM program with a distinct approach dedicated to future business consultants or
professionals in business analytics. The skills acquired through this MMABA should enable its
graduates to bridge the fields of data analytics and business management; as professionals they
should be equipped with strong skills to analyze data, upon which sound business decisions are
underpinned.

Through this program, the participants will learn and be equipped with a comprehensive and
systematic business mindset. Lectures will be enriched by real practitioners with real case studies
from Indonesian and multi-national companies. The aim is to give the students the capability to
transform data-based information into innovative and strategic business actions. With the nature of
business learning being both academic and practical, the program participants will develop their
sensitivity and responsiveness in the face of dynamic business environment.

Included in the MMABA program are its three learning pillars, namely: the understanding of
fundamental concepts in business management; the development of analytical skills, and; the ability
to apply those two elements in business practices. At the end of the program, the students will
demonstrate their sharp decision-making capability either by undertaking an improvement project,
or by proposing a novel business solution/idea, based upon relevant data utilization and rigorous
analyses.
