Sasin hires new
Chief Commercial Activities Officer
Dr. John Millar recently joined Sasin School of Management as
Chief Commercial Activities Officer, where he will support and expand existing
and new revenue streams beyond the schools core degree programs, especially in
online education. This is part of Sasins ongoing strategy to strengthen
connections with experienced business professionals and develop innovative, new
programs and platforms.
Prior to joining Sasin, Dr. Millar was Chief Strategic Development
Officer for Ananda Development and his areas of responsibilities included new
lines of business outside of residential real estate development and strategic
level changes to optimize the core business of residential development. As part
of this, he developed the companys innovation strategy and ran the UrbanTech
strategy of promoting links between Thailand and the world. He and his team ran
and supported around 70 events a year including the first-ever Singularity
University Summit in SE Asia, and brought Cambridge University, Stanford
University, and University of Berkeley technology transfer offices together for
the first time ever in an event to share best practices with Thai
universities.
Before joining Ananda, Dr. Millar co-founded Enterprise
Accelerator in Cambridge UK, an early virtual accelerator, which the UK
government funded to deploy across the UK via the Department of Trade and
Industry. The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts bought a
quarter of the company. During this time, Dr. Millar advised the UK government
on innovation policy and entrepreneurship through various bodies, was a speaker
on entrepreneurship at several universities including Cambridge University and at
organizations such as the National Physical Laboratory. His consulting
-mentoring time was also part of a prize in Running The Gauntlet, Britains
biggest business plan competition.
