Dear Partners, Colleagues, and Friends:

Greetings! I am Inmoo Lee and I was appointed as the new Dean of KCB on March 1, 2021. I am deeply honored and humbled to become the 13th Dean of KAIST College of Business. These are unprecedented times however, and I am eager to work closely with you to broaden our understanding and achieve our common vision together.
My academic background and career is in the area of Finance. As part of professional development, I have had numerous teaching roles and business positions. I was a tenure-track/tenured faculty member at Case Western Reserve University, Korea University and National University of Singapore. I also worked for a U.S. asset

management company, Dimensional Fund Advisors, for three years before I joined KAIST in 2010.
As you might know, KAIST is a science and technology-oriented university and it is well known as one of the best academic institutions in the Republic of Korea. KAIST is

probably better known among scientists and engineers, and because of recent achievements in the areas of science and engineering, some of our engineering departments were ranked as the top 20 departments in many global rankings.
My responsibilities as the dean of a business school within a very strong science and technology will be quite challenging. However, we also have an excellent opportunity to combine business education with science and engineering essentials, and this is critical in todays fast-changing business environment. Our prominent goal is to become a flagship college through active engagement and diversity inclusion, and to foster research-practice partnerships. I look forward to highlighting our work with your continued support.
Aside from many different topics, my main focus is on the globalization of our campus. I wish to bolster and enhance our impact on business education and research

through international partnerships. One of my priorities is to work closely with our partner schools and institutions to advance our goals and missions to become a global player. Thus, I hope that you connect with us and get involved to invent the new future.
My desire is to provide an opportunity to share our vision and discuss the possibilities of working together on mutually beneficial projects in the near future. I wish you and your school the best, and I hope you stay happy and healthy despite the troubles caused by the spread of COVID-19.

Best Regards,
Inmoo Lee, Professor of Finance
Dean, KAIST College of Business
