Western Sydney
University Tax Clinic
The Australian Tax
Clinic program was launched by the Australian government in 2019 and the Western Sydney
University (WSU) Tax Clinic – facilitated through the School of Business – has
received funding from Treasury to continue operating
the Western Sydney University Tax Clinic in 2021.
The Tax Clinic
provides free advice and support for unrepresented, lower income or vulnerable
taxpayers as well as for small businesses.
The program also
provides practical
experience to students who are looking to enter the tax profession. In 2020 we
placed 15 students in the Western Sydney University Tax Clinic through
internships and these students are supported under the supervision of experienced academic staff
who are also registered tax agents.
The Tax Clinic continues to
operate thanks to the hard work of Dr Connie Vitale and Dr Michelle Cull, colleagues
from the School of Business at WSU.
