Sogang Business School Usher in New Dean 
Sogang
Business School (SBS) of Sogang University in Seoul, South Korea, appointed a
new dean in January 2023. Prof. Doseong Kim of Finance became the new SBS dean,
succeeding the outgoing dean Prof. Sung Youl Jun. Since joining SBS in 2007,
Dean Kim has performed various governance roles for the university and SBS,
such as Vice President for External Affairs (2011-2013) and for International
Affairs (2014–2017) for Sogang University. For SBS, Dean Kim has been Associate
Dean for UG Program and for Graduate Programs (2017-2022) before his deanship
now. Dean
Kim earned both his BA and MA in Business Administration at Sogang Business
School at the end of 1991 and moved on to Bennet S. LeBow College of Business,
Drexel University, completing M.S. in 1994 and Ph.D. in Finance in 2000. His
teaching and research career in the United States had been at the College of
Business Administration, University of Akron from 2000 to 2006 followed by his faculty
position at his UG alma mater Sogang University since 2007. In
the research domain, Dean Kim has been engaged in an extensive array of
research activities in finance with his core interests in Market Efficiency,
M&A, and Global Financial Markets. He has published a substantial number of
research articles in global peer-reviewed finance journals and presented papers
at global financial conventions, while serving executive positions at finance
research institutes in his home country and abroad.
